(More customer reviews)This was a great series on a low budget but some of the stories were really great and scary. The one area that was not great was the video quality? Yeah from the 80's but still should have been way better. Extremely soft and have to watch on computer because the big screen really looks fuzzy with these episodes.
Agagin their great stories and would still purchase it. I recorded a bunch off tv and they even seem better so not sure how CBS did these.

Life Goes On: The Complete First Season (1989) Review

(More customer reviews)I've got great memories of watching this show on Sundays night over dinner with my family. They really don't make t.v. like this anymore, and that's a shame. The Thatchers were a believable family, albeit a very unique one.
I do think the first season was a bit uneven, as the show struggled to become more than just a soapbox for accepting different people (i.e., Corky's Down Syndrome). And they never could seem to figure out what to do with oldest daughter Paige (who was played by another actress in seasons 2-4). But it's still engaging family drama that never gets TOO preachy.
The best part about the first season has to be Kellie Martin as Becca. The part was smarter and better-written than any teenage role I can recall. Martin just got better as the series went on; it's a shame she would only do one more series (the short-lived CHRISTY) before becoming the queen of t.v. movies throughout much of the 90's.
I hope that this set sells well so Warner will be able to release the remaining seasons of Life Goes On.

Emergency: Season Two (1972) Review

(More customer reviews)Well, no playable issues here as was/is with Season One; so far. I'm still disappointed with Universal's choice of double-sided, non-picture discs but a better choice of packaging with the slim-line cases.
Automatic 5 stars for the series, no question there. You never know when a fledgling actor (at the time) may pop up. Anybody spot John Travolta as the injured hiker?
Update: EMERGENCY FIX!
Sadly I've come to my viewing of the last episode of Season 2. Gleefully, it appears Universal has fixed the freeze-ups with nice clean transfers with very little artifactual trash; and only one Universal graphics intro. Good job Universal! Lets hope they keep em coming. We're over due for more WEBB TV, as in Season 2 of ADAM-12 and Dragnet. Sure glad to see that Season 3 of EMERGENCY is on its way!
