(More customer reviews)Following the huge DVD sales of "Marcus Welby, M.D.-Season 1", "Shout! Factory" will be releasing "Marcus Welby, M.D.-Season 2" on October 12, 2010. This six disc set will feature all season 2 episodes, 24 in total, and will be uncut and cleaned from their original studio master tapes for impeccable quality.
This particular season of "Marcus Welby" is quite famous for it was the year the series would become the #1 show on network television in the United States, the first time ABC would accomplish such a feat. That year also featured a vast array of guest-stars such as Cloris Leachman, Jessica Walter, Larry Hagman, and Michelle Lee.

Robert Young returns as the the hard-hitting, no-nonsense family practitioner with a heart of gold in Marcus Welby, M.D. Season Two. Flanked by his by-the-book partner Steven Kiley (James Brolin ) and their loyal secretary-nurse Consuelo Lopez (Elena Verdugo), Welby tackles life-threatening conditions and situations in every episode. Practicing out of their private office in Santa Monica, California, the doctors manage to treat everything from STDs to leprosy to despotic parents in Season Two. While regularly working in conjunction with the nearby Lang Memorial Hospital, they travel to frequent house calls all over Los Angeles, making the show much more than a hospital drama. Marcus Welby, M.D. ran for seven seasons on ABC from 1969 1976, earning it a top spot in the medical drama pantheon and paving the way for such hits as House, M.D.
