Overall, i'm very excited for this set even though it's Hogan. The only thing missing is a one on one match against Million Dollar Man, still a must own set for fans of Hogan and classic wrestling.

The Second Season of "The Incredible Hulk" is great, as all the other seasons are too. I think Bill Bixby was born to play the role of David Banner, no one can or could do it like he did. An amazing and talented actor.
What a wonderful tv series, "The Incredible Hulk," is ,great for all ages. I liked watching it as a kid and now in my 30's appreciate the storylines in the series even more. Great action scenes done so well, even better without the computer technology of today. Which gave it enough action, and also the human element as well, which made it seem all the more real. As David Banner or the Hulk, they were both portrayed with great humanity , a sense of justice, tempered by compassion. I think all the stories and episodes in this season are first rate, but I think Married the two hour movie was done very well.
The commentary on the episodes is interesting and fun to listen too. The series deifintly has something for everyone.

The Incredible Hulk - The Complete Fourth Season Review

(More customer reviews)The 4th season is my favorite after season 2 as the show returns from a lethargic 3rd season to kick into high gear. The Hulk's best episodes were usually the two parters and the 3rd year was totally lacking in any epic episodes. The one episode which could have been an outstanding two fer, "Homecoming", was made as a one shot and is standout. But it needed to be bigger.
This season makes up for it in the first episode. "Prometheus" is my all-time favorite episode (with "Myster Man" of year 2 a very close second), as Banner deals with being stuck in mid-transformation. The cliffhanger is outstanding and this actually would have made a great season ender for year 3. But season ending cliffhangers were just getting started and not the Hulk's forte. The commentary by Kenny Johnson, as usual, has a wealth of fascinating information. Either he kept every scrap of info on his shows at hand or has the best memory of all time. Part 2 is something of a let down as it becomes a series or rampages, enlivened by one really great confrontation between the half-changed Banner and Jack McGee (really, Jack should be piecing this together by now).
Another classic and final two-part episode is "The First," which is a wonderful homage to the classic Universal monster movies of the 30's and 40's. Dr. Clive, Visaria, Del "Frye" are all names taken from those films. The final battle is disappointing since Dick Durock is no Lou Ferrigno (cmoe on, an old Hulk should have been played by no less than Jack LaLanne!), but the pacing is wonderful and the music score (as in "Prometheus") is outstanding. Not as much Banner and Hulk in this one, since it focuses on Frye and his creature, but it's interesting to see a murderous Hulk type creature and what he would do. Jack McGee, at this point, isn't just an obsessed reporter. He's become a crusader, out to save the people. It's an interesting change and it's because Bixby and Colvin wanted McGee to be a foil for Banner on par with the doctor. He's been decidedly less sleazy the last two years. :-)
"Free Fall" is a favorite for nostalia reasons, but it's a solid story. The sky diving shots and the music behind them are beautiful.
Other favorites for me include "Deep Shock" where Banner acquires temporary ESP and "The Harder The Fall" which is a great story about Banner being paralyzed in an accident, but realizes his healing factor will cure him. In desperation, he actually wants to become the Hulk. When it finally does happen, the creature doesn't understand why his legs won't work. This is, frankly, the last great episode of the series.
Other episodes work on a guilty pleasure level like "Dark Side" and "Bring Me The Head of The Hulk." But "Half Nelson" is just embarrassing (but with some laughs).
Even with the energy petering out toward the end, it's still a superior season, cut short by CBS. The final 5 episodes were aired the next year, but they were shot for season 4. However, these episodes are not on this set (which runs 18 episodes on 4 discs). I wish Universal would have just tacked on season 5, bringing it up to 23 episodes and 5 discs (season 3 has 5 discs). As much as I really love how they put out two seasons at once to capitalize on the new Hulk movie, they could have wrapped it up with the last 5 (I mean, is 5 episodes considerd a season for any show but The Sopranos?). With luck, the final set will come out when the Hulk movie hits DVD.
Aside from that, a worthy set which makes the series 98% complete now. te commentaries by Ken Johnson are always great and his tributes to the cast and crew no longer with us are truly touching. He really loved his people and it shows. He one again urges people to send him any questions or comments. Do so, he's a great guy to talk to.

(More customer reviews)The Third Season of The Incredible Hulk in many ways betters Seasons One and Two. The stories here are overall more exciting than in the Second Season and there are fewer lulls. You also get more insight into David Banner and (very pleasingly) Jack McGee. But there's one thing I did miss here; Two-parters. Season Two had the knockout episodes "Married" and
"Mystery Man" which were stretched to feature length. Here the episode "Homecoming" could easily have been a two-parter. David finds his way back home and makes up with his sister and father, whom he had always blamed for the death of his mother. It's a great episode which only fault is that it's too short.
Some great highlights here include "The Snare" and "The Psychic" which are two outstanding episodes. "The Snare" lifts it's plot from the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" which has been filmed several times. A recluse hunter on a remote island invites David to spend the night and before you know it David is fighting for his life for the hunter has become bored with hunting animals. "The Psychic" is very emotional with some incredibly sad overtones. Bixby's former wife Brenda Benet plays the psychic, who can see what David becomes and she also forsees Jack McGee's imminent death. Those who know something about Bixby's life will know that Benet committed suicide excactly one year after the death of their son Christopher. "The Psychic" aired shortly after Benet and Bixby had gone through a tough divorce. Both give exceptional performances here.
Some episodes which are considered lulls I actually found very entertaining. "Blind Rage" was a thrilling episode where David becomes blind, "The Slam" was an entertaining episode where David gets arrested and sent to a work camp. That episode also stars Robert Davi and Charles Napier. Softer episodes such as "Long Road Home" and "Falling Angels", which are considered not good, well I found them very entertaining.
"Broken Image", "Death Mask" and "Equinox" are also outstanding episodes. "Broken Image" is the one where Banner and McGee meet face to face, "Death Mask" is where Banner is suspected of multiple murders and "Equinox" is the one where McGee corners Banner in a costume party. They're all great. It's also great to see a whole episode devoted entirely to Jack McGee in "Proof Positive" and the late Jack Colvin excels there, as always.
The guest stars in the Third Season are much better than in the previous two seasons. There's much more consistency in the acting department here with supporting actors and that's one of the things that particularly plagued the Second Season. Bradford Dillman was a great villain in "The Snare", Paul Koslo is especially appealing in "The Long Road Home", Robert Hogan is marvellous as the scam artist in the mediocre episode "The Lottery", Brenda Benet is superb in "The Psychic", Gerald McRaney is very good and creepy in "Death Mask", Marc Alaimo showed some strong acting in "Nine Hours" and John Marley was fantastic is Banner's father in "Homecoming". An episode always goes down better with good performances from it's guest stars and there's no shortage of that here.
Not many episodes were dull but if I had to name someone I'd go with "Babalao" and "Sideshow". Those were below average.
Overall, this is a strong season of The Incredible Hulk. Bill Bixby doesn't falter once as David Banner, Jack Colvin is excellent as Jack McGee and Lou Ferrigno is up to the task again.

(More customer reviews)After being accidently exposed in his laboratory to a massive dosage of gamma radiation, David Banner (A Research Scientist) physiology was dramaticaly effected.
Normally peaceful, quiet man, David now found that once angered, he turn into the Incredible Hulk, a huge, powerful seven foot greenish, manlike monster of immense strength and primitive passions.
David knew and remember what happened at the start of his transformation but had no recollection of what he had done when he was the creature. He searched for a cure traveling around the country taking all sort of odd jobs in order to provide food and clothes for him self and in the same time avoiding the pursuit of investtigative reporter Jack McGee who suspected his secret but had no solid proof.
The Incredible Hulk was based on the 1962 comic-book character created by Stan Lee.
After two pilot movies in 1977, "The Incredible Hulk" a two parts first movie originally aired on November 4th,1977 and "A Death In The Family" two parts movie aired on November 27th,1977, the show was first telecasted on March 10th, 1978 until its last telecast on May 12th, 1982 for a total of 5 seasons and 83 episodes including the two pilot movies.

The First Season consisted of 10 episodes not counting the two pilot movies and they are as follows:

(More customer reviews)The Incredible Hulk Returns is a great TV movie! This Incredible Hulk TV movie was released in 1988. The TV movie aired on NBC back in the late 1980s. You still have the original cast from the TV series, Bill Bixby, Lou Ferrigno, and Jack Colvin. This particular movie David Banner had not transformed into the Hulk in two years and he meets up with an old friend Donald BLake, his character has spiritual connection with Thor. Hulk and Thor actually meet in ths TV movie which makes it worth waiting for! The other Incredible Hulk Movie is the Trial of the Incredible Hulk (1989)! This is second Incredible Hulk TV movie that aired on NBC in 1989. after David Banner meets Lawyer Matt Murdock played by Rex Smith. Matt Murdok is actually DareDevil, the blind Superhero from the Marvel comics universe. This is interpredation of DaveDevil pretty good. Rex Smith does a better job playing the Matt Murdock/DareDevil then Ben Affeck did in DareDevil 2003 movie!! Some how David Banner is accused of a crime he did not commit and DareDevil thinks the Wilson Fisk, aka KingsPin is responsible. Both Incredibl Hulk TV movies are great as well as the special features. There is an Interviews with Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno. There also a slide show presentation from the TV movies courtsey of Lou Ferrigno! A+ 4 stars
