Money in the bank-Christian vs. Finlay vs. CM Punk vs. Mark Henry vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Kane vs. MVP vs. Kofi Kingston
This match is great and very fast paced. I didn't think that it was worthy of being the opener. Great spots in this match like Benjamin doing a dive off the ladder on to everyone, kofi getting world strongest slammed on a ladder, hornswoggle doing the tad pole splash on everyone, christian saving himself and the ladder, and a huge cokeslam off the ladder. The wrong man won though later cashing in his money in the bank and screwing Jeff Hardy. This match also includes a lot of highflying moments and ladder use.

Chris Jericho vs. Jimmy Snuka, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat
This match is pretty good. It could have been better, but still good. I didn't like the stipulation to this match(elimination) Not very good with jericho winning. But great moment when jericho got punched by Mickey Rourke.

Jeff hardy vs. Matt Hardy-Extreme rules
Great match here. A good use of weapons in this mach like a, trash can, vacuum cleaner, tables, chairs, ladders, creches, Kendo sticks, and a wm 25 poster. What a moment when Jeff missed a leg drop off a 16 ft, also, if you look closely, you can see Jeff go through the ring some. Also, awesome moment when Jeff dived off the top rope and made Matt go through tables. A very sick ending.

JBL vs. Rey Mysterio-Intercontinental Championship
This match is a total waste and is just a filler. This match is only 21 seconds, and was dominated by JBL before the match was even started, and mysterio finally wins the intercontinental title. Great moment when JBLOSER quit. FINALLY!!!!! No more blubber.

Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
I hope you can say the word classic because that is what this match is. This match is fast paced through the entire match and is never boring, and was like all their other matches, really good, except this was a classic. This match totally deserved to be the main event, but sadly wasn't. This match is defanatly match of the night and match of the year. I really liked the buildup for this and that these two had a very good rivalry going. Great moments when Shawn missed the moonsaulet, and when undertaker dived on a camera man. I loved that the streak continues to 17-0. Awesome moment when taker kicked out of the sweet chin music and michaels kicked out of the tombstone. Best moment in the match when taker countered the moonsaulet into the tombstone for the win. This match is very entertaining and is one of the best WWE and Wrestlemania matches ever. It is also the second longest Mania' match ever.

John Cena vs. Edge vs. Big Show-World Heavyweight Championship
Good match, but a little short for a triple threat, but still good. This match was surprisingly brutal with Cena pulling off the win with a attitude adjustment on big slow and edge. Also, great moment in the match when edge made big slow go through the barricade. Also, who can forget the super human effort by cena when he picked up slow and edge on his shoulders. Good triple threat here.

Triple H vs. Randy Orton-WWE Championship
I don't have much to say about this match it is so stupid. This match is almost watchable, but not very good. This is more like a brawl than a match and didn't deserve to be the main event. I like how hhh kicked orton in the skull and hit him with the sledge hammer when the ref was down and got the pedigree for the win to retain. The only good thing about this match was the orton goes too far and eliminates the McMahon factor buildup.

Ladder match for the ECW championship
Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin
This was a very good match and a great way to start off a very extreme night. This was fast paced, very brutal, and had some great moments that could have stole the show. This match had moments like benjamin getting on the top of a ladder and then doing the wrestlemania 25 flip onto christian and almost breaking his back, and a huge frogsplash onto benjamin from the top rope and right through a ladder. This match is very entertaining and is a edge of your seat match with tons of joey styles OH MY GOD!!! Moments.

Intercontinental championship
John Morrison vs. Drew McIntyre
This match is also another good match on this card. This match had some fast paced moments with one of the most botched moves i have ever seen. These two had a pretty good rivalry going and put on a good match. I didn't like that Drew won, but, it was a perfect opportunity for McIntire to get the win after morrison missed a starship pain.

Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool
What a boring match. I hated this match the entire time. This was very boring and like all other diva matches, slow. This match was a filler and not watchable.

Tables match for the WWE championship
John Cena vs. Sheamus
Wow. I had no idea that this match would be good. These two put on a great match with a great buildup to go along. The ending is very dissapointing and very sad because sheamus wins with cena falling from the second rope and going through a table. I liked the brutality and how the match was back and forth the entire match. This match had some good weapon use and is very enjoyable and has tons of action.

Chairs match for the WWE championship
Undertaker vs. Batista
This isn't a very good match either. These two have had many great matches when they had rivalrys, but this was the worst encounter between these two. I didn't like that batista won with a cheap lowblow, and that the match got restarted, and undertaker getting a quick win. This match was very short, unlike their other matches. This match is watchable, but not worth watching.

Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston
This is their best encounter yet. These two put on a great match, but was a little short. I like the action and some great moments in this match like orton getting a dropkick on the outside in midair, the punt to the arm, and a missed trouble in paradise leading to a huge RKO. I really like this match and thought it was a great way to lead up to the main event and the best match on the card.

Tables, Ladders, and Chairs for the Unified Tag-Team championships
DX vs. JeriShow
This match definatly deserved to be the main event. This match had tons of chair and ladder use and is very brutal. I liked that this match pretty much started on the entrance way very early in the match. This match was a finisher fest, everybody got their finishers on each other. Some great moments like triple h and shawn being cokeslammed together through a table, big show getting jericho on his sholders while trying to get the belts, two sweet chin musics in a row, big show breaking a ladder in half, and DX winning their first tag titles. This match is fast paced and fifty/fifty and very enjoyable.

WWE: Summerslam 2009 (2009) Review

(More customer reviews)This was a very strong ppv effort from WWE. Most of the matches were very good including an excellent main event with a good aftermath that sent the fans home happy. Yes, I'm talking about the return of the Undertaker. For a show that was hyped up extremely poorly by WWE, it definately delivered far better than expected. The wwe title match was bizarre, but I give them credit for trying something different. This is a dvd that I definately recommend adding tom your collection, it's worth the price. Matches are rated out of 5 stars (*****).
1. Intercontinental Title Match
Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
This was actually a hell of an opening match. Crowd was very into it by the end, and they had lots of near falls. Ziggler even had some very audible chants from the crowd in his favor. Rey wins by reversing a gutbuster off the top rope into a huracanrana, but the match was so well worked that this loss didn't hurt Ziggler. ***3/4
2. MVP vs. Jack Swagger
Decent match, but it was too short to really get going. They cut a promo before the match billing this as the spoiled jock vs. the ex-con tough guy. Somewhat of a surprising finish having MVP go over, but in the end it doesn't really matter. This came off like filler on TV. **
3. WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Chris Jericho & Big Show (c) vs. Cryme Tyme
Pretty good match. It took a little bit to get going but people started to get into it by the end. The finish came a little abruptly for my taste, and it really didn't do much to elevate Cryme Tyme, but there wasn't a whole lot to complaign about. Worth a look. **1/2
4. Kane vs. The Great Khali
This was foul. A poor, poor match to say the least, which is exactly what most sane individuals were expecting. It wasn't Sharmell vs. Jenna from TNA Victory Road, but there was absolutely nothing of merit in this match. It wasn't even good filler. -*
5. Shawn Michaels & Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase
Very good, long match. Crowd was very into DX. DX got the win in the end, but they did a good job of elevating Legacy and making them look like credible oponents. Plus, it's always great to see HBK in the ring again. All around I thought this was a definate thumbs up, and everyone worked hard. ***1/2
6. ECW Championship
Christian (c) vs. William Regal
Match lasted less than 10 seconds. The bell rang, Regal turned around to take his robe off, and Christian hit the Killswitch for the three. After the match, Zeke Jackson and Kozlov beat down Christian. They were probably short on time, but couldn't they have cut Kane and Khali instead of gypping the fans on what could have been a pretty good match? Nothing to see here. (NR)
7. WWE Championship
Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena
This was a strange one to say the least. Match was good until the finish, when Orton shoved the ref and intentionally got DQ'd. Lillian Garcia, in an epic moment, said the winner and new WWE champion is Randy Orton. Then she said Vince McMahon ordered the match to restart, under a new set of rules claiming Orton would lose the belt if DQ'd again. Orton quickly got himself counted out and again the match was ordered to restart, this time stating that if Orton was DQ'd or counted out the belt would change hands. Orton then pinned cena using the ropes, and another ref came down and got the match restarted again. Cena finally got the upper hand and had Orton in the STF, and right when it seemed Randy would tap a "fan" ran in the ring and broke it up. Once the confusion died down, Orton hit the RKO for the pin. Basically, Cena looked like a fool 4 times. Anyway, I give them credit for trying something different, because they've fueded so much in the past, but this was one of those finishes that you either liked or hated. ***
8. World Heavyweight Championship TLC Match
Jeff Hardy (c) vs. CM Punk
Tremendous main event. They didn't have quite as many spots as you might expect, but their timing was superb and everything they did looked good. The last spot in particular, which I won't spoil but involved a big ladder and an announce table, was phenominal. Punk gets the clean win and the title in a great match. After the bout, Undertaker returned to a huge pop and chokeslammed CM Punk, so at least the crowd got a happy ending. ****1/4
This was a very enjoyable ppv. The wrestling was of a very good quality overall, and I don't think anyone who sees this show would feel slighted of their money's worth. It's worth having in your collection and would be nice to go back and watch from time to time, and it seems like it's been a while since I said that about a WWE ppv.

WWE: Hell in a Cell (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)Hell in a Cell has been called the most dangerous match in the WWE since its debut in 1997. The cell has definitely shorten and ended not only susperstars's careers but also referees and managers. This 3 disc set shows you the best remembered Hell in the Cell Matches over the past 10 years of it's exsistence. If you have seen the Ladder Match DVD set then you will really love this set as well. This set is just as good as the Ladder Match 3 disc set is.
Mick Foley hosts the presentation and he starts off the program by giving a brief back story on why and how the Hell in a Cell Match came to be. The Hell In A Cell Matches that are not included in this set are Undertaker Vs. Big Bossman from Wrestlemania XV, Kennel in a Cell Match: Al Snow Vs. Big Bossman from Unforgiven 1999, & Undertaker Vs. Edge from SummerSlam 2008.
Bad Blood (October 5, 1997)
Undertaker Vs. European Champion Shawn Michaels - In the HIAC's debut match, Michaels and Undertaker sets the bar for future HIAC matches to come. Undertaker just really dominates HBK for mostly all the match. Once the two made their way out of the cell, Undertaker and Michaels would just fight each other around and on top of the cell. Michaels soon falls from the side of the cage & through the announce table after trying to escape from the Underaker. After Kane makes his debut and Tombstones the Undertaker, HBK becomes victorious in the first Hell In A Cell Match. This match is something to see if already haven't. 5/5
Raw (June 15, 1998)
Kane & Mankind w/ Paul Bearer Vs. WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin & Undertaker - This was more of a segment than anything else. Stone Cold leads Mankind and Kane outside the cell to leave the Undertaker and Paul Bearer all alone inside the locked structure. Inside the locked structure, Undertaker just beats the holy hell out of a bloody Paul Bearer while leaving Stone Cold fighting Kane and Mankind on the outside. Kane trys to climb the cell to get in before Austin meets him up there. They do not show us the after math once Raw went off the air and it aint really worth rating.
King Of The Ring (June 28, 1998)
Undertaker Vs. Mankind - This is probably the most known and memorable Hell in a Cell match of all-time and mainly because of Mankind being thrown off the cell. After being chokeslammed and thrown off the cell, Mankind and Undertaker delivers a pretty brutal match. Thumb tacks, steel steps, and chairs all gets involved. After being chokslammed onto thumb tacks, Undertaker Tombstones Mankind to pick up his first ever Hell In A Cell victory. Foley certainly gets a well deserved standing ovation after the match. 5/5
Raw (August 24, 1998)
Mankind Vs. Kane - Just like the match from King Of The Ring, Kane and Mankind starts this match off on the outside where Foley gets beaten up by both Kane and the Undertaker and also falls from the cell through the announce table. Kane and Mankind both takes some hard chair shots to the head. Thumb tacks also gets brought into this match. After Stone Cold Steve Austin interferes from under the ring, the match gets stopped. A match that's worth a watch. 4/5
No Way Out (February 27, 2000)
WWE Champion Triple H Vs. Cactus Jack - Not only was this match for HHH's WWE Title but Mick Foley's career was also in jeopardy if Mick Foley lost this match. The match itself was just as brutal and punishable as Foley's & HHH's Street Fight was from the Royal Rumble a month earlier. After Foley and the Game got out of the cell, the match would only get more violent around and on top of the cell. After once again falling from the cell and through the announce table, Foley brings out his famous barbed wire 2x4 and sets it on fire. After setting the 2x4 on fire, Foley gets backdropped through the cell and crashes through the ring followed by a Pedigree from HHH. Just like from the KOTR, Mick Foley gets a well deserved ovation after the match. And for the trivia buffs out there this is the first Hell in a Cell match where a WWE Title was defended in. 5/5
Armageddon (December 20, 2000)
Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. WWE Champion Kurt Angle Vs. Triple H Vs. The Rock Vs. Rikishi Vs. The Undertaker - This has to be the wildest, craziest, & most action packed HIAC match of all time. There is action everywhere in this match. McMahon comes out and frees everybody from the cell and then all hell breaks loose everywhere. We even see a Wrestlemania X-Seven preview from Austin and the Rock. This was just a huge and tremendous match. Awesome Hell in a Cell match. 5/5
Judgment Day (May 19, 2002)
Triple H Vs. Chris Jericho - HHH and Jericho by far made up for their lousy match they had at Wrestlemania X8. Jericho takes one of the most brutal beatings ever inside a Hell in the Cell Match. Jericho tried to be tough but I think the cell got to him in this match. A ladder gets briefly used along with a steel chair, ring steps, & a sledgehammer. After being let loose, Triple H & Jericho battles all around the cell and soon make their way on top where HHH brings up with him a barbed wire 2x4. The match ends on top of the cell after Jericho gets Pedigreed by HHH. Watch out for Tim White getting up close and personal to the cell. 4.5/5
No Mercy (October 20, 2002)
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar Vs. Undertaker - Get ready to see a bloodbath because that is exactly what this HIAC Match is. Undertaker & Brock Lesnar shows everybody how violent & sedistic a Hell in the Cell Match can be. Just as brutal and sedistic fighting only inside the cell and not out. Undertaker bleed buckets in this match. Lesnar & Undertaker both uses the cell and other things around them very effectively on each other. Possibably the best Hell In A Cell Match in history. 5/5
Bad Blood (June 15, 2003)
Kevin Nash Vs. World Heavyweight Champion Triple H - Kevin Nash wasn't really getting over with the fans as WWE thought he would so they brought in Mick Foley to be the Special Guest Referee for this HIAC match. This isn't as bad as people say it is. I felt this HIAC is very violent and brutal. All men bleeds in this one including Foley. Not the best Hell in a Cell Match but definitely not the worst. 4/5

Triple H Vs. Shawn Michaels - You better get ready to take a deep seat because Michaels and HHH tears each other to shreds for nearly one hour in the sedistic Hell In a Cell. HBK and HHH both takes a lot of punishment and a bloody beating from each other. This was a fantastic way to end this feud. Arguably the best Hell in a Cell match ever. This match was just off the charts. 5/5

World Heavyweight Champion Batista Vs. Triple H - HHH and Batista told anincredible story here in this HIAC match. HHH is a guy that brings out the best in Batista and HHH did an fantastic job here in doing so. Everything you expect in a Hell in the Cell match and more takes place. Batista gets very physical in this match. He uses everything HHH brings out against him and more. This is a sedistic match where HHH has to take time off from afterwards. This HIAC match could also be the best ever. 5/5

Undertaker Vs. Randy Orton - Other reviewers point out that this HIAC match resembles more of a No Holds Barred than a true Hell in the Cell Match but I disagree with that. Undertaker and Orton provided the fans a sedistic and a very harsh match to watch. A lot of physicality is apart of this HIAC match. Orton pulls off some impressive counters to the Undertaker. Orton also takes one of the most vicious beatings from the Deadman along with two of the most hardest steel chair shots I have ever seen. A table gets introduced as well and so does some steel steps in this match. The interference from Bob Orton wasn't really needed but I felt this Hell in a Cell match was great. Another big time HIAC match. 5/5

Triple H & Shawn Michaels Vs. Vince, Shane McMahon, & ECW Champion Big Show - A new Hell In A Cell structure was introduced for this match. Great usage with the cell and the weapons that were used such as a sledgehammer & steel chairs are used very effectively in this HIAC match. It has a vicious and sickening ending with HHH breaking a sledgehammer on the back on Mr. McMahon. This is another hellacious match. 5/5

Undertaker Vs. World Heavyweight Champion Batista - The new amplified version of the Hell In A Cell continued here as the Undertaker & Batista ended their nealry year long feud. Undertaker is another guy that brings out the best in Batista and this was a tremendous match. Not a whole lot of weapons used but the ones that were, Undertaker & Batista uses them very effectively. They could have used the cell more but it was still good. The ending and the post-match beat down from Edge is something to check out and it really added more to the match. 5/5
Hell In A Cell is called the Devil's Structure and every match from this set displays why. This is an awesome set to add to your collection and is HIGHLY recommended.

For those looking for a documentry type set, check out "The Stone Cold Truth" as this DVD is in the format of how Hogan's anthology & RVD's was in that along with an anthology of matches with Austin commenting on certain things in between each match. Such subjects as his getting started in the business, his relationship with Brian Pillman, WCW, ECW, Austin 3:16, Mick Foley, being WWE Champion, The Rock, his neck injury & surgery amongst other things. Other extras include his WrestleMania 21 "Gladiator" commercial along with behind the scenes footage of it & him confronting Vince about NOT being his son.
Matches Include:
Steel Cage Match: WCW Tag Team Champions Hollywood Blondes vs. Dos Hombres - The story here is that Dos Hombres is actually Ricky Steamboat & "Shane Douglas" underneath a mask using the gimmick that Edge/Christian & Hardy Boyz would later use on each other during the Los Conquistidors angle in 2000. This wasn't their best encounter as it was really Tom Zenk under Douglas mask (Shane was released/fired before the PPV). The match itself wasn't bad but didn't top or match the calibur that all 3 men & the real Douglas have had earlier in the year.

vs. Flyin' Brian Pillman - This match came after the Blondes were split apart for "various reasons". It was around 10 minutes and really came off as a high intense grudge match. It was a good wrestling/brawling mixture.

Caribbean Strap Match vs. Savio Vega - Well they couldn't show the first one because you would be looking at a black screen the whole time so this was their "rematch" with the stipulation of if Austin lost, Ted Dibiase would leave WWE. Savio & Austin usually had a good series of underrated matches (look at WrestleMania 12) & this was no exception with some stiff whips from the straps at times including one that Austin gave Savio on the floor that was so loud, I felt the pain.

vs. Bret Hart - Bret Hart's return to WWE after WrestleMania 12 resulted in a lost classic that always gets overshadowed by their submission match at WrestleMania months later. I can try to describe this but this is one of those matches to me where words can't & it's actually my favorite encounter between these two.

The Terry Funk Confrontation - The story here was that this year's Royal Rumble was held in Texas so Texas legend Terry Funk was brought in for the event but he showed up on Shotgun the night before where Austin was as well. When you have two of the toughest S.O.B.'s in the ring together with, it resulted in a brawl with Funk being tossed into a trough at the end of the show.

vs. WWE Champion Undertaker - This was more like Austin vs. Undertaker featuring the Hart Foundation because they were sitting at ringside & got involved various times throughout the match. Austin & Taker would go on to have better & classic matches but this one was still entertaining eventhough it's not as famous. This match was known for such funny moments like Austin pulling Owen Hart over the apron to beat him up followed by Taker punching Owen back over the rail and Austin giving Earl Hebner the "bird" after he low blowed Taker before both Taker & Hebner returned the favors to Austin.

w/Shawn Michaels vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & British Bulldog - There's an old catchphrase to summerize this match..."The enemy of my enemy is my friend or the enemy of my enemy is my enemy?" Austin & Michaels couldn't get along but both hated the Hart Foundation so they were forced to team up and delievered a great main event as all four men are great workers.

vs. Shawn Michaels - Since they couldn't get along, they got it on. Great match between the two that resulted in another lost classic here that is overshadowed by their WrestleMania match. They went around 30 mins. and both showed how "anti-authority" both men could be towards the end. As a side note, I hope they mute out the "first time tag team champions wrestled each other" line since Bulldog & Owen wrestled each other twice before this match.

The rest of the match again was a good match as all four men were good workers.

vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Owen Hart - The infamous match that would plant the seed for Austin's neck problems as Owen Hart's piledriver left him paralized in the ring for a while resulting the worst looking cradle in the history of the business. The match before the incident was one of the best Intercontinental Title matches for that time but this is mostly known for that piledriver.

WWE Championship Match vs. Dude Love - This was another match that gets overshowed by their most famous encounter (the next month at Over The Edge) however I wouldn't go as far as to call his a lost classic. The whole story here was if Vince McMahon was going to pull a "Montreal" on Austin & screw him out the title. Hense why there was a heavy focus on McMahon & the timekeeper at ringside. The match itself was good but their rematch was better with the highlight being the ending where Austin gave a chairshot to Vince.
Unforgiven April 26, 1998
First Blood Match for the WWE Championship vs. Kane - "If I do not win the title, I will set myself on fire!" That was Kane's own stipulation he put on this match. I guess you can call this an "unofficial" Hell In The Cell match because the Cell (which had the Taker/Mankind match earlier in the night) did come up & down at various times during this match & was used for such moments like Kane strattled on it & choking Austin while it was being lifted up along with it almost coming down on Austin's neck. The ending had Undertaker costing Austin his title by busting him open with a chair. This match not only continued the "Highway To Hell" storyline leading up to the SummerSlam match and also planted the seed for the first blood match between Austin & Taker that would happen a year later.

No Holds Barred WWE Championship Match vs. The Rock - The WrestleMania XV rematch with Shane McMahon as the special referee. The Rock had Austin's "Smoking Skull" belt & he wanted it back. Just like every Austin/Rock match, it went all over the place & you were highly entertained thoughout the match. The next chapter in a classic rivarly with a cameo appearence by Vince McMahon along with the debut of the RockCam.

No Disqualification Match vs. Triple H - Eventhough Rikishi ran over Austin, Triple H was the man behind it as this fued heated up to another level in this match. The match was good quality between these two that would be topped in their next encounter (and the next match on this set) but this was more memorable for the ending where Triple H & his car fell off the top of a high lifted forklift. As a side note, Benoit's involvement was edited out.

WWE: Royal Rumble 2009 (2009) Review

The ECW Championship match with former champ Matt Hardy vs. then champion Jack Swagger. It was back and foward and good opener for the PPV and for me it gets a 3.5/5
Now we go to the Women's Championship match with Melina vs. Beth Phoenix, the girls always do a good job with Beth domonated most of the match with Melina coming from behind giving this match a 3.5/5
Now the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match with John Cena in his 4th championship run vs. his old rival JBL w/ his new "employee" HBK in his corner. Not much to say in this match cause like always John Cena wins until losing the title the next month in the Elimination Chamber. 2/5
Now we move on to the WWE Championship Match with Jeff Hardy in his first run as a World Champion vs. his old TLC "buddy" Edge. Before the match even stared then Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero makes the match no DQ so her nephew Chavo can get involed in the match for Edge. In the end Matt turned on his own brother so Edge can win his 8th world championship. 4/5
And now the MAIN EVENT the ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH with Rey Mysterio(who lasted a long time in there)and John Morrison staring at #1 and #2. This was an interesting Rumble because Orton kicked Vince McMahon in the head so it was unknown what will happen if he won or not. When Triple H who entered at #7 and Randy Orton #8 they got a huge pop from the fans like always. But to my surprise Rob Van Dam was a guest entrent at #25 and crowd went crazy! But in the end with help of Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton wins the match and will main event The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania!!! 5/5

WWE: Greatest Stars of the '90s (2009) Review

(More customer reviews)If you purchased WWE Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80s and were disappointed with the profiles and match selections on that disc, WWE redeems themselves with the sequel that focuses on the best of the '90s.
First, the main thing that surprised me about this set was how strong they put over Sting. Sting is currently the world champion of their competition, the dreadful TNA promotion, yet they gave him his due on this release. When you open the 3-disc set up your eyes are drawn to a giant image of Sting on one of the DVD art panels. WWE talent and announcers really talk positively about Sting also and do nothing to make the champion of their rival look bad, very surprising indeed.
OK, on with the rest. Disc one is a 3 hour documentary that focuses on who the WWE considers to be the biggest wrestling stars of the '90s, which is without question the greatest decade in the history of the sport. The recently departed Tazz hosts the documentary and introduces each segment that chronicles each wrestler's career from it's beginning thru 1999. All the major players are covered: The Rock, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Yokozuna, Triple H, Bret Hart, Lex Luger, Owen Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The WWE saves Austin for last and Vince himself puts Austin over, and rightfully so, as the greatest star ever in the company. Some may think Bret, Shawn or the Rock are the greatest from '90s, and they're entitled to their opinion, but it's hard to argue with record setting PPV buys, ticket sales and merchandise sales that Austin achieved in the '90s. He's the best, and it's nice to see the company acknowledge it.
If I had to guess, I would say about 40% of the interviews in the documentary are from previous releases, but we do get some new comments from a few guys, most notably from CM Punk (see his comments concerning Lex Luger, he nailed him!). Each wrestler is covered nicely with what they accomplished in the '90s taking center stage.
WWE is famous for taking shots at people in their documentaries, but they really didn't bury anyone here. There are some subtle shots of note though. The most obvious one to me is how during Mick Foley's segment, they showed footage from his "This is Your Life" segment with the Rock from Raw, but failed to say how it was the highest rated segment in the history of Raw, an achievement they've always acknowledged in the past. That was interesting. Also, they take a few digs at Luger, they're fair digs though in my opinion, about how he may have been the total package, but never reached his full potential.
My only complaint with the documentary is that they included Owen Hart and left out a talent like Big Van Vader. I'm sorry, but as nice a guy as Owen was, he was not a main eventer or big draw during his career. Was he good and talented in the ring? Absolutely. Should he be called one of the greatest of the '90s, I don't think so. I would've replaced Owen with Vader. Vader dominated the '90s as a monster heel champion in WCW that helped WCW during a very dismal time in their history. His matches with Cactus Jack, Sting, Ron Simmons and Ric Flair are classics and it would've been nice to see his career highlighted here. That's my only complaint, otherwise it's a very entertaining trip down memory lane. They show a lot of clips and parts of promos during each wrestler's segment that I had forgot about, so there's some great stuff here.
Now, for the match selection. There are some great matches on this set. First, WWE has finally released Flair vs. Hogan from '91 at Madison Square Garden. This feud was going to headline WrestleMania VIII, but Vince scrapped the match after he wasn't impressed with the in-ring work, or the box office results (which I think was unfair because those matches took place during the first steroid scandal and a lot of fans were turning away at this point) from their series of bouts. I have to disagree, this match between Flair and Hogan is great! I never thought Hogan and Flair had good matches in WCW, but they have a pretty good bout here in WWF. It's well worth a look.
Vader is well represented in the match department with a forgotten classic against Sting at Slamboree '94 for the International World Title. For me, this match was worth the price of the set alone.
Other matches of note include: Diesel vs. Razor Ramon for the Intercontinental Title from WWF Superstars (you always knew there was going to be a title change when the belt was defended on Superstars!), Diesel and Shawn vs Yokozuna and Bulldog with all titles on the line from In Your House '95 (great tag match), Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels from Survivor Series '92, Austin vs Undertaker from SummerSlam '98, Sting vs Bret Hart from Halloween Havoc '98 and Triple H vs The Rock in a strap match from Fully Loaded '98.
WWE continues to release one great compilation set after another, and this one's no exception. Well worth a look.
Future sets I would love to see them make: The history of the World Title (and please go all the way back to when it was the NWA title), history of the ECW world title, a rise and fall of WCW set, a greatest gimmick matches set and 3-disc sets for the following wrestlers - Jerry Lawler, Big Show, Terry Funk, Chris Jericho and Ricky Steamboat.

The 1990s may have been the most turbulent decade in the history of sports entertainment. The biggest fight of the era was not in the squared circle, but rather between rival companies WWE and WCW, and survival was at stake. Like any good match, it saw its twists and turns, particularly when WCW brought WWE to its knees, winning the Monday-night ratings battle for more than 80 consecutive weeks. (More customer reviews)Tombstone: The History Of The Undertaker tells a roughly 6 hour story about this WWE Superstar's rise to main event status from 1991 until 2004. Aside from the bad packaging, I was very pleased with this DVD. Now, here is what you'll find on here:
Disc 1
Undertaker Vs. Hulk Hogan (WWE Championship) - The Undertaker wins his first WWE title after being in the organization for only a year! Guest appearance from "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.
Undertaker Vs. Yokozuna (RIP)(WWE Championship Casket Match) - This ends up being more of a gang mugging as several WWE stars help out Yoko! Still significant as it shows the fighting spirit of UT in a losing effort.
Undertaker Vs. Diesel - This was from WrestleMania 12 and one of Kevin Nash's better bouts!
Undertaker Vs. Mankind (Buried Alive Match) - Foley, as usual, takes a beating from UT! UT wins the match but ends up getting buried alive by Mankind, The Executioner (Terry Gordy in a mask/RIP) and several other heels!
Undertaker Vs. Mankind (WWE Championship Match) - Undertaker had just won his second WWE title a month earlier. Foley takes another beating including a head first dive into a table!
Undertaker Vs. Bret Hart (WWE Championship Match) - "HBK" Shawn Michaels is the special referee in this one as this was otherwise a classic bout! Guest appearances from Paul Bearer, Owen Hart (RIP) and Brian Pillman (RIP). The ending leads up to the brief but brutal Michales/Undertaker feud!
BONUS MATCH: Undertaker Vs. Bret Hart from One Night Only in England! Awesome bout! Perhaps better than their Summerslam encounter.

Undertaker Vs. Kane (WrestleMania 14) - This bout was the first ever meeting between these two and probably the best between these two!
Undertaker Vs. Kane (Inferno Match) - Not a great bout BUT does have an awesome dive by 'Taker over the fire onto Kane and Vader!
Undertaker Vs. Mankind (Hell In The Cell) - The worst beating of Mick Foley's life. People can talk about HHH ending Foley's career in this same type of match but, in my eyes, it was UT that shortened Foley's career as the beating he gave Mick was far worse than what HHH did to him!
Undertaker Vs. The Rock (WWE Championship Match) - Very entertaining in that The Rock is his usual defiant self against UT! Guest appearance from HHH in this one!

Undertaker Vs. HHH (WrestleMania X-7) - Probably one of the best WM bouts ever!
Undertaker Vs. Hulk Hogan (WWE Championship Match) - This is a rematch 12 years later for the same championship!
Undertaker Vs. Brock Lesner (WWE Championship Match/Hell In The Cell) - One of the top 5 HITC bouts ever! Taker bleeds like a stuck pig! Not for the squemish!
Undertaker Vs. John Cena - Interesting to see John in heel mode here! Actually does a good job staying with 'Taker.
Undertaker Vs. Mr. McMahon (Buried Alive Match) - Not much of a bout but McMahon takes a HUGE A** WHIPPIN' HERE! 'Taker loses when Kane interferes.
Undertaker Vs. Kane (WrestleMania 20) - Nowhere near as good as their original encounter BUT the entrances make it worth viewing.

This a good set even if the packaging was not up to par! I would also recommend getting Undertaker: This Is My Yard as well as it goes more into UT's career BEFORE WWE! Between those two DVD's, you'll have his whole career up until 2004! Recommended set!

WWE WrestleMania 24 (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)This years show did indeed have it's good, and it's bad. Although my hopes weren't too high for this years "Showcase of the Immortals" as the build up wasn't very well done in my oppinion, for a Wrestlemania anyway. Was it a good PPV? Answer: Yes, it was a BRILLIANT PPV! A good Wrestlemania? Well, for the most part, yes. A solid 4.5/5 in my oppinion. Now let's have a look at the matches while staying completely spoiler free.
John "Bradshaw" Layfield VS Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) in a Belfast Brawl
-It seemed suitable to open the show with this match as I always had fears the fans interest would wan during it. JBL is quite boring in the ring, and while I love Finlay as a wrestler, he isn't completely "over" yet. So I feared this match would be met with silence. Opening the show prevented that as it meant everything was freash for the fans. Unfortunately the match sucked. After the most build up out of any match (It dated all the way back to last year and the whole "Who is Vince's son?" angle), the most emotional storyline... we got, well we got nothing really. The "brawl" was nothing. Finlay's emotion leading up to WM was wasted. The match completely failed it's purpose.
CM Punk VS Shelton Benjamin VS Chris Jericho VS Carlito VS Montel Vontavious Porter VS Mr. Kennedy VS John Morrison in a Money in the Bank ladder match
-Good bump showcase. Not as good a match as previous years, but some awesome bumps. Seemed a bit unorganized though. Still, the winner truly deserved it, even if he was underused in the match. Shelton takes a bloody killer bump. I shared the same expression Carlito wears when it happened.

Umaga VS Batista
-This match didn't stand out at all. I don't think it was expected to though. Easily could've been done on a usual PPV or RAW/SD. Not WM worthy.
Kane VS Chavo Guerrero to win the ECW Championship
-Really, there was no one else that would've won this. And it's revealed early in the night so I don't consider it a spoiler. Kinda odd they didn't show the hyped on TV battle royal, but then again, WWE doesn't make sense often. Quick match, pretty pointless.
Ric Flair VS HBK in a career threatening match
-What an emotional match. Longtime wrestling fans are sure to be overcome with emotional during this match. A fantastic story is told in the ring, backed up solid ringwork. Besides the Money in the bank, this is the only other match so far that has had that unique WM feel.Beth Phoenix and Melina VS Maria and Ashley in a Playboy BunnyMania Lumberjill match
Lumberjills: Cherry, Eve Torres, Michelle McCool, Victoria, Mickie James, Jillian Hall, Katie Lea Burchill, Kelly Kelly, Layla and Maryse.
-I took a toilet break at the start of the match as I knew this match would be crap. A boring match made worse by a mishap during the match. Only worth watching for Snoop Dogg's entertainment. He's one cool cat.
HHH VS Randy Orton VS John Cena in a Triple Threat match to retain the WWE Championship
-The match was, alright. Didn't really tickle my fancy but I can see some people really enjoying it. Just fast forward John Cena's entrance... it's some goofy marching band entrance. Ergh! The end is quite unexpected and was well done.
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. VS The Big Show in a No Disqualification match
-This match was way better than I expected. Slow, but it had a big feeling to it. Which I found impressive, that they gained that bigtime feeling. A real shocking ending. Pure wrestling fans will despise it, but it's more entertaining than expected.
The Undertaker VS Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship
-THIS is what Wrestlemania is about! What a main event! It had the big feeling to it and truly gave off the feeling anything can happen. The false finishes, reversals, everything was done beautifully. This match saved the show from being a 3 star Mania, to making it a 4-4.5 star mania!
As for the promo's and backstage segments... they were alright. Some entertaining ones. They all pretty much added to the WM feeling.
...Also, it looked SPECTACULAR in High-Def!!!
If possiable it should be watched in HD!
Every current wrestling fan should watch this, to see what the Mania "feeling" is. Because by the main event, the show is oozing that bigtime feel. Past fans... watch it for the classic Flair/HBK match and Edge/Taker match (Both 4- 4.5 star matches in my oppinion). Plus you get several good 3- 4 star matches. Skip the belfast brawl (which could've been good, considering the 2 wrestlers are excellent brawlers) and the Diva match.
The DVD/Blu-ray should also come with the Hall of Fame ceremony which makes this a worthy buy as we see the end of an era.
4- 4.5/5 Stars.

WWE: Bragging Rights 2009 (2009) Review

(More customer reviews)John Morrison (SmackDown) vs. The Miz (RAW) - The former World & WWE Tag Team Champions, former host of "The Dirt Sheet", and the holders of the top midcard titles (I.C. for Morrison & U.S. for Miz) finally clash here in their first singles meeting since being split up as a team back in April when Miz turned on Morrison after being drafted to RAW. No pun intended but this was "total nonstop action" as both men went back & forth here with Morrison showcasing his high flyin' style while Miz was more grounded but also very aggressive while using few heel tactics here & there. The only bad note I can say here is that the ending looked a little weak to me but a great way to start the show.
Melina, Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly (RAW) vs. Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Natayla (SmackDown) - Normally when you get a multi-diva tag match, it's full of botches or they just stick to the wrestlers doing most of the work with the other pretty faces just getting a move in. However this one is a standout out of the past few matches on PPV because just like the first match, it continued to be fast paced action while everyone put in a good "botchless" effort from everyone. It should also be noted that there was some good foreshadowing of things to come from the SD team with Beth Phoenix dominating before McCool would make the blind tag to take over & be a glory hog with Beth returning the favor later.
World Champion Undertaker vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Batista vs. C.M. Punk - No different than the previous two matches, this was another quick fast paced one (as usually these multiman type of matches are) that had it's various moments like Taker tossing Punk over the top rope with Rey sitting a sitdown splash on Punk right afterwards on the floor with Mysterio again taking advantage of a situation by hitting another splash on Taker after a superplex with C.M. Punk. The main story here though was Batista & Rey Mysterio working together as a team thoughout the match only for Rey to break up Batista's pin at one point leading to what happened after the match between Rey & Batista that started with the words "I can't believe my best friend stabbed me in the back...I'm gonna rip your head off."
D-Generation X, Big Show, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston (RAW) vs. Chris Jericho, Kane, Matt Hardy, Finlay, R-Truth, Hart Dynasty (SmackDown) - The final match to determine who gets the Bragging Rights trophy however this match heavily resembled what I classified as multi-diva matches earlier in that only certain people work the matches while others just come in to get a spot in before being forgotten about. This was a good match that had some moments like Finlay & Shawn facing off (I think for the first time) and literally "butting heads" while old rivals fought again at various times (Hardy with Henry & Swagger along with Kane & Big Show). I'll say that it was creative how everything that happened in the ending would set up various angles following the match but overall, this match was a bit of a disappointment for me.
Falls Count Anywhere Ironman Match: WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena - The final encounter (or so they say) between these two who have been going at it on & off for the past two years for an entire hour and there was a special stipulation in that there was a one minute rest period between each fall. This was different than their typical matches in that knowing they are going for a complete hour, both men were more cautious as shown early when Orton tapping out very quickly the moment he got caught to avoid long term damage. Cena was bleeding at one point (and they tried to stop the clock to tend to the cut) but didn't stop & continued the match until the next fall as they tended to the cut during the rest period. There were some other standout moments like the "Attitude Adjustment" being countered into the RKO, the appearence of Legacy & Kofi Kingston, Orton trying to use the stage pyro against Cena, the fight through the crowd, tables & chairs & the steel steps being used, and Cena executing one of the most aggressive versions of the "STF" that I've seen from him. I've always said that Cena is at his best when he's in these "hardcore" type of matches & Orton definately held more than his own here in this match.
In the end, this was one of those PPV's that didn't have a bad match on it with the only negative thing I can say is that with the main match behind this "brand war" concept was a disappointment. Overall, this is definately one worth checking out.
