This series is among the most requested and widely discussed Nightline series of the last 25 years. (More customer reviews)I watch My Family on PBS. I decided to go online to see if I could purchase this TV series on DVD from Amazon which I have. I have purchased Seasons 1 & 2 and enjoy them very much. Season 3 & 4 have the charactor Nic on them. The actor who plays this charactor is very funny and entertaining. He is the main reason I watch the series. The other actors are just as wacky and fun to watch. This is a very difuctional and funny family. I give seasons 3 & 4 a thumbs up.

(More customer reviews)There are a lot of Brit-com series with great humor, but I have to say "My Family" tops the list. I have been buying the series over the years from the UK in PAL format and have watched it over & over. Unlike current US sitcoms, this series has good old fashioned family humor--like it "could happen to you". Some scenes are so unbelievably hilarious--you have to rewind to see what you missed through the tears of laughter. Buy one series and you will not be able to wait for more to be produced (Six series have been released in the UK--and the quality of the comedy never dies--excellent writing and acting by all the "My Family" cast)

Meet the Harpers: a modern, functional family... engaged in psychological warfare. Ben (Robert Lindsay), a dentist, and Susan (Zoe Wanamaker), the worst cook in the world, are certainly loving, caring parents; they just have a hard time showing it. Not that their kids make it easy: Nick has serious issues with the concept of work; Janey, like any other normal teenager, lives in her own soap opera life; and Michael likes to show up every once in a while with the odd pet rabbit. When Ben becomes paranoid that Susan and Janey are seeing another dentist, and Nick comes up with a harebrained scheme for dating girls, it may just be that Michael's rabbit is the sanest member of the household.

(More customer reviews)My Family is a fantastic show ironically created by American writer Fred Barron. The cast, led by Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker, is absolutely brilliant. The situations the family faces are a bit exaggerated, but really do mirror a conventional family in the US or the UK. I'm happily anticipating the release of seasons 3 and 4 in the US soon. (Seasons 1 through 7 have already been released in the UK.) I hope Amazon will continue to offer the remaining seasons as they become available in the US.

The Harpers are back, and their attempts at domestic bliss have hardly improved. Ben (Robert Lindsay) is still at a loss since his dental assistant quit, and is even entertaining the thought of hiring Nick. Home life hasn't helped ease his nerves: Susan (Zoe Wanamaker) suspects that she's pregnant, Janey wants to throw a house party, and Michael is upset that his father doesn't have a more interesting profession. Things seem to look up when a new client shows up and promises to send business to Ben's office, at least until a box of raw meat lands on the Harpers' doorstep in the dead of night.
