(More customer reviews)I will give this 2 stars for nice stop-motion animation and colorful sets. They tried but they had a lousy story to work with. I realize that Rankin-Bass is history now but the "modern" take on these characters and the "new" story is just wrong on so many levels.
Mrs. Claus has none of the charm of the Shirley Booth character in the original "The Year Without a Santa Claus" and she looks like she is about 50 years older than Santa and she can't sing. Santa also lacks the charm of the original although still voiced by Mickey Rooney. The new elves, while admirably diverse, are charmless too and lacking lovability, especially the head elf who sounds like an accountant instead of one of Santa's jolly helpers. How modernly droll (not).
The Miser Brothers are OK but the new "improved" CEO version of Mother Nature and the huge-chinned North Wind? What on Earth? A useless peripheral character with zero interest as a villain.
The music is the worst I've heard on one of these, sounding like someone's teenager wrote it in the garage on their WalMart guitar in about 2 days. You won't be singing these songs again and again nor hearing them covered by any recording artist on a Christmas album. The original Misers song is the only highlight musically.
Too bad -- I really wanted to like this. A poor effort at capturing the magic of the old Christmas stop motion specials clearly made to make money and not delight children and adults alike.

(More customer reviews)Take everything that was so great about the First Christmas Vacation film, toss it out the window, get a lousy cast and a worst script and you've got the makings of Christmas Vacation 2. Randy Quaid and Miriam Flynn reprise their roles as Cousin Eddie and Catherine Johnson in this horribly un-funny "holiday" film.
Though Eddie's fired right at Christmastime, his boss sends him and his family on a South Pacific vacation, hoping Eddie won't sue him after being bitten by a lab monkey. When the Tuttle family winds up trapped on a tropical island, however, Eddie manages to provide for everyone and prove himself a real man.
Incredibly the movie has a decent supporting cast including Ed Asner, Fred Williard, Eric Idle, Stephen Furst, and Beverly Garland. Never has so little been done with so much.
Why did they make a sequel to Christmas Vacation??? No Chevy Chase, no Beverly DeAngelo? This played more like a bad sitcom than a legitimate movie. Granted, it was a made for tv film, but come on! This was just pathetic.
There were zero laughs in this movie. Seriously....zero laughs. Maybe a snicker or two but that's it. That is quite an achievement! This is nothing more than a slapped together mess meant to cash in on the name of its predecessor. National Lampoon should be cursed to watch this one over and over again.

An institution, of course, is where many think Cousin Eddie should reside. Randy Quaid again plays crude but lovable Eddie and Miriam Flynn returns as his wife in another comic skid on the Vacation banana peel. In a way, Christmas has always been a test of survival for Eddie and his brood. And that's truer than ever when they receive an expenses-paid holiday tour of the South Pacific and end up shipwrecked on a remote island. Fred Willard, Ed Asner, Eric Idle in a zany cameo and more join in this season of comfort and joy. Which means little comfort for Eddie. Bewitched (Special Edition) (2005) Review

(More customer reviews)In a seemingly endless sea of remakes which quickly (and rightfully) sink into oblivion, Bewitched deserves credit for at least putting a new spin on the formula. I can't imagine anyone but Nicole Kidman in the role of Isabel...she simply glows, you can't take your eyes off her. Will Ferrell delivers his usual goofy, over-the-top performance, which suits his character just fine. And at the heart of it all is a sweet and (mostly) old-fashioned love story. It also pays due reverence to its source, as Isabel keeps a picture of Elizabeth Montgomery in her dressing room, and wonders what the "real" Samantha would do.Sure, it's not perfect. In fact (minor spoiler alert!), I knocked off a whole star for the whole "Uncle Arthur" nonesense in the final act. But I laughed. A lot, in fact. I was delighted with Kidman's performance. And I left the film feeling pretty darn good. What more could you want?
For once, don't believe what the majority of critics have said. Bewitched is a great romantic comedy.

My nehphew, who is the biggest spongebob fan, LOVED it!!! He had told me the title, and like I said was dissappointed I couldn't find it, so it was a delight that I really found him the one he wanted so badly. Thanks! He said it's a good one!

(More customer reviews)This is the first movie I have seen that I wanted to rip the DVD out of the player and break it. The acting sucks. In fact, the extras in the movie give better performances than the leads. The story sucks. You could make a fun drinking game though. Watch the movie and drink every time MJ says the word neverland.
If you are not a MJ fan, you will hate this movie. If you are a normal MJ fan, you will hate this movie. If you are the biggest MJ fan in the world, you will HATE this movie.
Pop question hot shot....What's the stupidest idea ever? No Michael Jackson music in a Michael Jackson movie! Yep that's right. No Beat It, no Thriller, no Billy Jean. Just cheesey music.
Take the money you were about to spend on this DVD and pay someone to kick you in the balls, hard, because that would be better than this movie.

Martin: The Complete Fifth Season (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)Martin - The Complete Fifth Season is the final season of this '90s hit show. It's pretty sad this funny sitcom only lasted five little seasons. Tisha Campbell is rarely seen, she had issues with Lawrence and would only finish the finale if Martin agreed to keep his distance from her. This season is bittersweet, they are still some hilarious moments but the cast who had excellent chemistry the first 4 seasons is now gone and you can feel it. I highly recommend purchasing this groundbreaking show, good memories!
