Televisions #1 comedy celebrates five seasons of funny with big laughs and hilarious new storylines. Charlie (Charlie Sheen) tops the charts as kiddie-song sensation Charlie Waffles. Alan (Jon Cryer) at last meets the perfect woman who just happens to be dating Charlie. Jake (Angus T. Jones) starts junior high, armed with reams of "helpful" advice from Alan and Charlie. Evelyn (Holland Taylor) ties the knot for the fifth time (lots of guests at the wedding, lots of cops at the reception). And as always, Berta (Conchata Ferrell) deals with it all by dealing out a royal flush of deadpan zingers. The guys are in and the welcome mat is out at everyones favorite Malibu beach house. Seinfeld - Season 9 Review

(More customer reviews)Season nine starts where we left off the previous season, with George recovering from injuries he took down a flight of stairs, thus interrupting the "Summer of George" he was planning to enjoy with his generous severance check from the New York Yankees. George quickly finds another job, but his potential new boss has misunderstood his cane, and before George can explain the boss tells George about all of the benefits he will enjoy as a handicapped employee. George decides to go along with the ruse when he discovers he will have his own specially outfitted bathroom to suit his handicap - a perk George cannot resist. When George is found out by his employer and even offered another generous severance package to leave, he decides to dig in and the whole situation turns into a humorous seige. George never fails to offend and infuriate people, so later in the season when an acquaintance is working on step nine of the AA program by going around and apologizing for past transgressions George is unhappy that he is never apologized to. He agitates the acquaintance about this so badly that he does eventually get the apology. However, unfortunately now the poor fellow has an anger management problem on top of his alcoholism due to George and must enroll in still another support group.
Elaine is in a longer relationship than usual, continuing her romance with ace auto mechanic David Puddy. The mismatched couple have as tortured a relationship as you would expect and in the opening episode are bickering during a plane ride all the way back from Europe where they have been vacationing. They break up but end up sleeping together every time they see each other. This works out for Jerry and for Puddy since Jerry keeps betting Elaine that she can't stay away from Puddy - and winning - and it turns out that Puddy likes not having to stick around to cuddle with Elaine afterwards.
Although I have no idea how Kramer manages to live in Manhattan without any visible means of support, at least we finally discover why he has been unemployed. He's been waiting for the strike to end at H&H Bagels for 12 years. The strike ends when the minimum wage finally reaches what the union demanded in the first place. Of course, Kramer is the only one of the strikers who has actually been faithfully striking all these years. When he decides to celebrate George's father's version of Christmas - Festivus - he wants the day off. When H&H refuses Kramer goes back on strike because his religious beliefs are not being honored, thus ending Kramer's brief venture into the world of work.
Jerry has numerous romantic misadventures this season including a girlfriend that looks either beautiful or hideous depending on what the lighting is, another girlfriend who likes to wander around sans clothing yet still manages to annoy Jerry when he discovers there is such a thing as "bad naked", and yet another girlfriend whom Jerry throws over for the sound of his own voice imitating the noises that the girl's stomach makes.
This year has Newman making quite a few appearances, most notably in "The Butter Shave" where he discovers that he is strangely attracted to Kramer in a culinary way after Kramer uses butter as a tanning lotion and then falls asleep in the sun. That all-over butter smell is just too much for Newman to resist ending in a hilarious chase scene through the middle of Jerry's stand-up routine. Newman and Kramer are also featured in a satire of the X-Files when Kramer starts to complain about his junk mail to the post office and goes there to declare he no longer wants his mail delivered.
The last four episodes - Puerto Rican Day, the two clip shows, and the finale were a bit of a let-down to me. Puerto Rican Day didn't seem to have the same level of ensemble humor I was accustomed to seeing, the clip shows are just bits and pieces taken from prior shows that were shown on the night the finale was broadcast, and the finale just didn't live up to my expectations. But then it would be hard to wrap up in one hour a show that spent nine years focused on the minutia of life as experienced by four self-involved people and somehow managed to never disappoint. It's hard to have a satisfying conclusion to something that had no real beginning or middle to it. The following is the list of special features:

I am from germany and was introduced to the "My name is Earl" series through an american friend. So I bought the first season from Amazon in the US and was amazed! I really love the idea that stands behind the series and after a few episodes you get to know and love the characters, too!
The second season shows more background information to the characters and goes deeper into Earl Hickey's universe. I love it! Get both available seasons together, it is a must-have, when you love outstanding comedy!

Married...with Children: The Complete Seventh Season (1987) Review

(More customer reviews)Ok, ok, I know, Seven sucks. Gotcha. No argument there. But, I can ignore the scenes with him, read a magazine or something, until the king, the hero, the shoe man comes in to save us from the misery of Seven. Al Bundy is the funniest, greatest character I have ever seen, and even the weakest season of Married With Children still beats the heck out of the lame, tame, canned-laughter, seen-it-before tripe that networks spew out now, hoping we won't remember recycled jokes from the 70's and 80's.
Kelly and Bud are getting older now, and can have more adult situations now that they're out of high school. That only adds to the humor. Besides, Seven is only in a few episodes, not every one. Less than half. Strangely enough, The first disk has Seven the most, and it has the weakest episodes. Once Seven disappears, disks 2 and 3 have some hilarious episodes. So even though this DVD has crappy theme music, even though there are no extras at all, it still earns 5 stars from me. And, best of all, for season 8, no Seven, and.. the start of "No Ma'am!"

(More customer reviews)For a change, Australia is ahead of USA in this release. I've owned this now for a little while, watched the whole season through, and watched it again. I love it as it's one of the best tv comedy shows out there. There are 24 episodes on these disks and this is the way they pan out.
1 - BACK OFF MARY POPPINS - Charlie's male support group includes lots of Hollywood celebrities like Sean Penn and Elvis Costello - but not Alan.
2 - ENJOY THOSE GARLIC BALLS - Alan is jealous that Judith has a new beau ... and delighted that he may be off the hook for alamony.
3 - A BAG FULL OF JAWEA - Teacher's Pet. Trying to be a good uncle, Charlie romances the teacher who threatened to suspend Jake.
4 - GO GET MOMMY'S BRA - What is Evelyn's bra doing in the back seat of Charlies car? The answer is ... uh...unnerving.
5 - BAD NEWS FROM THE CLINIC? - Charlies falls for a female verson of himself. And man, does she make him look miserable.
6 - THE PRICE OF HEALTHY GUMS IS ETERNAL VIGILANCE - Is Alan a Jekyll and Hyde? A childhood shoplifting story has him convinced there's a "bad Alan" inside.
7 - A KOSHER SLAUGHTERHOUSE OUT IN FONTANA - Charlie and Alan's party for Evelyn turns into an affair to remember... for al the wrong reasons.
8 - FRANKENSTEIN AND THE HORNY VILLAGERS - Confusing love and lust, Alan promptly proposes when he dates a woman who's sexually adventurous.

14- THOSE BIG PINK THINGS WITH COCONUT - Aland tells Evelyn she's no longer welcome at the house. But his mother is, as always, a step ahead of him.
15- SMELL THE UMBRELLA STAND - Vegas, baby! Charlie's attempts to leave for Las Vegas keep coming up snake eyes.
16- CAN YOU EAT HUMAN FLESH WITH WOODEN TEETH? - Faced with a sudden IRS audit, Alan needs someone reliable to take care of Jake. Someone like ... Charlie?
17- WOO-HOO, A HERNIA EXAM! - Back attack. When Charlie injures his back, he refuses chiropractic help from Alan.
18- IT WAS "MAME," MOM - Charlie wants to make a good impression at a gay ad exec's party. So he asks Alan to be his 'date'.
19- A LOW GUTTURAL TONGUE-FLAPPING NOISE - Second best? Alan is attracted to a beautiful woman who once had a fling with Charlie.
20- I ALWAYS WANTED A SHAVED MONKEY - Angry at the women in their lives, Charlie and Alan do the mature thing. They turn on each other.
21- A SYMPATHETIC CROTCH TO CRY ON - The death of Evelyn's second husband Harry, affects everyone in the family differently.
22- THAT OLD HOSE BAG IS MY MOTHER - He's traded his sould for a Porsche. That's what Charlie thinks when Alan accepts a car loan from Evelyn.
23- SQUAB, SQUAB, SQUAB, SQUAB, SQUAB - Bad parenting? The guys are wracked with guilt after leaving Jake with Evelyn for an evening.
24- DOES THIS SMELL FUNNY TO YOU? -Poetic license. Jake's "How I Spent My Weekend" report differs somewhat from reality.
This show is so hilarious. Charlie Sheen does a fantastic job of delivering his lines with perfect comic timing and all the cast members are funny too. Holland Taylor as Evelyn is one of the best, and this show doesn't slow down. it's no wonder they're always nominated for awards. I can't wait to see and own the third season. I love this.

I had to send back the entire set of six to get a new episode three and it too had the pamphlet missing. I had opened the shrinkwrap to make sure all dvd's were there, but this is a gift and how do I explain the pamphlet is missing?

In fact, I've enjoyed it so much that I've actually watched the same episodes over right after I've just seen them. All the characters are terrific and I could not say that one is better than the other. The show would not be what it is without the stellar cast.
I must admit, I never thought that Charlie was acting, just being himself. Alan plays off Charlie brilliantly and the timing of the entire cast is just wonderful. A show not to be missed by anyone with a good sense of humor!

For six seasons, Charlie Harper has loved \'em and left \'em. In Season 7, he gets left. (More customer reviews)For once, Australia actually has something first. We have this first season on DVD and I love it. It is such a funny funny show and I was so surprised that Charlie Sheen is as funny in this as he is. Charlie's brother Alan comes to stay with him (and brings along his son) when he gets a divorce.
You all know how funny this is and you don't need another reminder, so I'll just give you the run down of what's on these four discs.
1. PILOT - Deal Him In. Charlie's poker night with the boys includes a genuine boy - 10 year old Jake.
2. BIG FLAPPY BASTARDS. Talk about gull-ible. Seagulls invade the house when Jake won't stop feeding the feathered freeloaders.
3. GO EAST ON SUNSET UNTIL YOU REACH THE GATES OF HELL. Tequila shots and a philosophical cabbie lead Charlie and Alan to a confrontation with their mother.
4. IF I CAN'T WRITE MY CHOCOLATE SONG I'M GOING TO TAKE A NAP. The most important woman in Charlie's life - his cleaning lady - walks out.
5. LAST THING YOU WANT IS TO WIND UP WITH A HUMP. Charlie and Alan discover a great place to score: Jake's soccer games, home of single soccer moms.
6. DID YOU CHECK WITH THE CAPTAIN OF THE FLYING MONKEYS? A new dad for Charlie and Alan? Evelyn flips for a beau ... until he drops her like a bag of cement.
7. IF THEY DO GO EITHER WAY, THEY'RE USUALLY FAKE. Jake spies a tattoo on a pretty girl's half-bare bottom, then draws the naked truth for a school assignment.
8. TWENTY-FIVE LITTLE PRE-PUDERS WITHOUT A SNOOT-FUL. Fourth grade - the musical. Charlie 'volunteers' to writea salute to the Industrial Revolution for Jake's class.
9. PHASE ONE, COMPLETE. What's wrong with Miss Right? Everyone thinks Charlie's girlfriend is The One - everyone except Charlie.
10. MERRY THANKSGIVING. Charlie tries to showcase his domestic talents when he hosts a lavish Thanksgiving dinner.
11. ALAN HARPER. FRONTIER CHIROPRACTOR. Makeover magic. Charlie's the man with the plan when Alan decides to jump-start his life with a new look.
12. CAMEL FILTERS + PHEROMONES. A minor problem. Berta's Lolita-like teenage granddaughter creates chaos in the Harper household.
13. SARA LIKE PUNY ALAN. On their last double date, Charlie got the incredible cheerleader and Alan got the incredible Hulk. Does Alan dare try again?
14. I CAN'T AFFORD HYENAS. When Charlie hits a financial pothole, he has to (gasp! shudder!) cut back on expenses.
15. ROUND ONE TO THE HOT CRAZY CHICK. Batter up! The guys bring home Frankie, a gorgeous woman with a baseball bat ... and anger insues.
16. THAT WAS SALIVA, ALAN. Two and a half men - plus one and a half women. Frankie brings her eight-year-old daughter to stay.
17. ATE THE HAMBURGES, WEARING THE HATS. In his will, Alan names a guardian for Jake ... and it isn't Charlie.
18. AN OLD FLAME WITH A NEW WICK. (My personal favourite) My, how you've changed. Charlie's old girlfriend wants to be friends. And now she's a he.
19. I REMEMBER THE COATROOM, I JUST DON'T REMEMBER YOU. Twisted sister. Judith's seductive sister once had a fling with Charlie but now she's cuddling up to Alan.
20. HEY, I CAN PEE OUTSIDE IN THE DARK. Jake gets a guitar and an attitude. He just can't seem to lose the blues.
21. NO SNIFFING, NO WOWING. Alan's divorce attorney is a major hottie but Charlie discovers she's too hot to handle.
22. MY DOCTOR HAS A COW PUPPET. Well at least it's exercise. Alan resumes his childhood sleepwalking habit.
23. JUST LIKE BUFFALO. Shhhhhhhhhhhh! Jake repeats Charlie's sexist comment in front of Judith's man-averse support group.
24. CAN YOU FEEL MY FINGER? After a girlfriend has a pregnancy scare, Charlie decides a little snip-snip will prevent any future worries.
This is such a funny show and I know you're gonna love it. I highly recommend this one.
